Capacity - The largest amount of load that can be transported by a river at a given velocity

Entralment - The process by which particles are picked up off a river

Corrosion - When river water is slightly acidic. This dissolves the river bed

Comminution - The reduction in size of particles as they are eroded

River abrasion - The carping scouring and rubbing action of material being carried by river on banks and bed
