What are salt marshes ?
they are places where the sea has flooded the land between high and low tide and example of one would be key haven marshes which is located behind Hurst castle spit on the south coast of England , many salt marshes form behind a bar or spit because they shelter the marsh which is made up from soft mud and other soft rocks ( which puts it at risk from erosion ) from erosion
