Hot deserts
deserts are dry land, can be hot like the sahara n cold like antartica, but all recieve less than 250mm of rainfall per year, mostly found in a belt between approx 30 degrees north and 30 degrees south
characterisitics of hot deserts
very low rainfall
extreme temp range- lack of cloud cover allows daytime temp, but very cold nights
soils tend to be sandy or stony, limited leafy vegetation means little organic matter…
