- Exons = DNA that codes for amino acids
- Introns = DNA that doesn't code for amino acids
- Multiple Repeats in DNA outside of genes = also don't code for amino acids
- How do enzymes contribute to our development? They speed up our metabolic pathways and these include the chemical reactions that occur in the body. They determine how we grow and develop. Also enzymes are proteins which are coded for by genes - therefore the triplet codes (order of bases) affect the enzyme's structure
