Biotechnology - developing ways of using microorganisms for industrial processes.
Genetic Engineering - permanently changing the genetic makeup of an organism by inserting genes into it's DNA.
1) Identify the gene that codes for the protein to be produced.
2) Remove it from the donor, e.g: human cell.
3) Introduce it to a host, the bacterium.
4) Grow the bacteria on a large scale to make the product.
