Equality & media images have created ambition amongst women to strive & do well. Stereotypes became less likely & not always viewed as mother/housewife etc.
Changes in the LAW (SEX DISCRIMINATION ACT 1975) made it illegal for anyone to discriminate against a person based on their gender
Feminism has achieved considerable success in improving the rights & expectations of women. Theyve challenged the traditional stereotype of women's roles & so women now look beyond the housewife/mother role. This could have resulted in SHARPE'S change in findings.
