U shape Valleys or Glacial Trough's

- They start off as V shape valleys formed by rivers.

- as the glacier moves down the valley it wants to take the most direct routes.

- Erosion processes take place:

- Bulldozing - the force of the glacier moving down the valley bulldozes large objects such as trees out of the way.

-Plucking - rocks get frozen to the glacier and removed as the glacier moves away, leaving a jagged landscape.

-Abrasion- stones embedded in the glacier rub against th bedrock acting like sandpaper to smooth down the bedrock
