China's one child policy:

China's one child policy was put in place in 1980, and has effectivly halved the population since it started. There was 1350 million people in 2008.

There are many benefits for having one child:

  • 10% wage increase
  • Tax reduction
  • Pension
  • Priority in housing, health care and education
