River Nene is one example of a river that is being managed. One example of the River Nene is being managed is by embankments. Embankments are raised walls built to stop the excess water from the river overflow into the surroundings. These are usually made out of concrete and they can slso spoil the view of the landscape but they ensure high security even though they are quite expensive to build.
