Plants need carbon dioxide for photosynthesis so they need certain adaptations for effective gas exchange:
- large flat shape for a larger surface area for more gas exchange to take place
- waxy cuticle - waterproof layer to stop water loss
- palisade cells - lots of chloroplasts for photosynthesis
- air spaces…
