  • Pressure groups provide an opportunity for people to campaign for what they want, without having to join a political party.
  • Pressure can represent minority groups within society - E.g Fathers4Justice campaign for better child custody rights for divorced & separated fathers. 
  • Pressure groups help to educate & inform the public on politically important issues - E.g Before the Countryside Alliance existed few sections of the population were aware of the problems for people living in rural areas. 
  • Pressure groups help governments make decisions. On specialist areas
