CONSENSUS APPROACH - everyone agrees on social norms and values and people work together to maintain society.
MACRO THEORY and STRUCTURAL THEORY - looks at society as a whole and how things are organised.
SOCIALISATION; School acts as a bridge between the family and wider society which helps children to cope with the wider world - society in miniature. Integrates and regulates behaviour to achieve social cohesion and stability.
Strength - it is true that schools and training courses transmit norms and values through their formal hidden curriculums.
Weakness - the norms and values transmitted by schools and training schemes are not necessarily those of society as a whole but dominent social groups.
