Frankenstein - Context

  • Born into an age of scientific and political revolution. - ability to "bestow imagination" p.42 was being looked at by people like Lawrence and Abernathy in Edinburgh at the time. 
  • Shelley was in Geneva with Percy Shelley, Lord Byron, and some other famous writers at the time. 
  • Re-animating corpses. - Just before Shelley wrote the book the people she was with in Geneva had been dicussing Galvani, who had apparently re-animated tissue, and Aldini, who had managed to make a criminal's
