- Camera
- Long shot: Used to establish scene
- Mid-shot: Used in conversations to show reaction
- Close-ups: Create an intimate feeling and allows focus on detail
- Extreme close-up: Focuses the audience on a significant item
- High angle: Creates a sense of scale and makes the subject look small
- Low angle: Creates a sense of importance or foreboding
- Eye level: The camera represents the audience's view
- Point of view shot: See the characters perspective
- Crane shot: Gives lots of information
- Editing
- Straight cut: Emulates the audience's eye movement
- Disolve: Brings a new shot into focus as the other disappears
- The fade: Where the old image gently disappears (usually to a black screen) before the new image appears.
- The wipe: Where the new image comes onto the screen with a distinct shaped edge and seemingly ‘pushes’ the old one off screen.
- Lighting
- High key lighting: All areas of the frame are lit through the use of multiple lights.
- Low key…
