Founding Principle of the Scottish Parliament

Founders of the SP beleived that westminister had become distant from the Scottish people.

Opinion Polls showed that the public distrusted the MP's and felt excluded from parliamentary procedures.

So the SP had to be accessable for the Scottish people...

  • Most committee meetings are open to the public
  • Meetings of the SP in the debating chamber are open to the public.
  • All meetings can be watched online (
