Bread:

Yeast, Sugar, Flour and Water. The yeast turns the sugar into ethanol and carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide causes the bread to rise.

Wine:

Yeast and grape juice. Again yeast turns the sugar into ethanol and carbon dioxide.

Cheese:

Lactobacillus is added to milk, the sugar is converted to lactic acid causing the milk to curdle, add Chymosin and separate the curds to ripen.
