Fish Farming

1)     Fish can be farmed in cages in the sea

2)     These cages stop them from using as much energy from swimming around. They also protect them from interspecific predation (being eaten by other animals like birds and seals)

3)     The fish are fed a diet of food pellets that are carefully controlled to maximise the amount of energy they get. The better the quality of food, the quicker and bigger the fish will grow (which is good for us as fish are a good source of protein)

4)     Young fish are reared in special tanks to ensure as many survive as possible
