Fertilisation [ B2 ]


Fertilisation takes place during sexual reproduuction. It is when a male gamete (sex cell) combines with a female gamete to produce a zygote.

Gametes are haploid cells. They have only one set of chromosomes.

The zygote has two sets of chromosomes. So it is a diploid
