Different Types of Family's
Neo-Conventional nucleur family-Similar to the nucleur family married couple and dependant children where both parents work.
Cohabition- In a relationship but not married.
Reconstituted- Re-marry with someone else, live with them even though its not the childs real parent.
Commune- A large group of poeple living together.
Extended family-Consists of parents and their children, along with their grandparents, aunts and uncles (multiple generations).
Grandparents- (vertically extended)
Aunts and Uncles -(horizontaly extended)
Multiple generations- (Beanpole family)
Single parent family- child that only lives with one parent due to divorce or unwanted pregnancy.
Same sex family's- Two people of the same sex cohabiting or married. Adoption, surrogacy or IVF.
Single person household- A person living on their own due to choice, through relationship breakdown or death of a partner.
Empty nest family- Where children have grown up and left home leaving one or both parents.
Household- All the people living together in a domestic dwelling with people you aren't related to (Friends).
Boomerang children- Adult children who repeatedly return to their parents homes.
Marriage
Polgyny- When a man has more than one wife.
Polygamy- Having more than one marriage family.
Polyandry- Where a women has more than one husband.
Bigamy- Having two or more marriage parteners at the same time. A criminal offence in the UK
