Falsification stated that for something to be meaningful, there had to be evidence which could count against the statement (empirically refute it)

  • If this was possible, then what was being spoken about clearly had an empirically meaningful basis, otherwise it would not be possible to find evidence that counted against it

Karl Popper made the assertion that if a principle was robustly scientific, then it would be inherently disprovable (you would know what it would take to find things that count against it)
