This is the name of the poem and it has a double meaning of the soliers are expsure to the waether there is no trees of walls to cover them from the iced east wind or that we as readers are being expose to the trueth and the reality of the pain that they went through. Also suggesting that they are exposed to the enemies, can be shot or killed bey hypothermia.
