The sanctity of life states that life is sacred and is ordained by God. It postulates that life begins at conception and continues until natural death therefore euthanasia is not allowed as it is an artificial way to end life. It can be applied to euthanasia by looking at the Bible and different dominations of the church.

Firstly, from the Bible it is clear that euthanasia is violation of the sanctity of life. The commandment ‘do not murder’ argues that euthanasia should not be permitted as it is almost like murder as you are taking a life away without the permission of God. It should only be God who takes and gives life which is emphasized in the quote from Job: ‘The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away’. Furthermore, Jesus healed the sick
