IGD

·         1 control group

·         1 experimental group

·         P randomly allocated to one condition

·         Operationalised IV

·         Need to give standardised instructions

ADVANTAGES

-          Things like the fatigue effect does not confound the results

-          Doesn’t matter where you carry it out

-          Better than RMD

-          Fewer demand characteristics

DISADVANTAGES

-          There will be demand characteristics and people might try to work out the aim of the study

-          Ps different (in each condition) can’t be sure individual differences influencing the results

-          Some confounding
