Increase in muscle activity means more glucose and oxygen is needed in muscle cells. Extra carbon dioxide needs to be removed. To make this happen blood flows at a faster rate. Excercise increases breathing rate & makes you breathe more deeply so you get enough oxygen, increases speed at which heart pumps and the arteries dilate.

Some glucose from food is stored as glycogen. Mainly stored in liver but each muscle has own share too. During strenuous exercise your muscles use glucose up quickly, and need to use…
