Exchange in the gut

The food you eat is broken down in your gut. It forms simple sugars such as glucose, amino acids, fatty acides and glycerol. These products need to leave the gut because if they dont they would simpley be passed out of your body in your faeces. They move out of the gut with a combination of diffusion and active transport.
