  • Attachment is a two way, reciprocal process.
  • Humans inherit mechanisms that allows us to attach (social releasers e.g. crying)
  • Montropy - Internal Working Model
  • Social Releasers are innate signals to attract caregivers attention.
  • Critical Period - based on Lorenz's Theory of imprinting (geese). This period is between 7 - 18 months.
  • Internal Working Model - blueprint for all future relationships.
