The Appalachian mountains of eastern North America are thought to link to mountain ranges in Ireland, Britain, Greenland, and Scandinavaia and the Anti-Atlas Range in Morocco.
Similar glacial deposits are found in Antartica, S. America and India
Striations showing the same orientation are found in Brazil and West Africa.
Biological Evidence
Mesosaaurus
Evidence of tectonic motion is based on similar fossils and rock types on opposing sides of the ocean eg; Mesosaurus only found in Africa and S. America in deposits from the Permian Age (280mya). The presence of Mesosaurus (only 1m long) suggests a single habitat with many lakes and rivers.
