Strengths

Identify- Evidence from brain scans support the existence of different types of LTM.

Explain- PET scans shows that different parts of the brain that are active when different types of LTM are active. It has been found that Episodic memory is associated with the hippocampus and temporal lobe region of the brain. Semantic memory is also associated with the temporal lobe region of the brain. Procedural memory is associated with the cerebellum, basal ganglia and limbic system.

Conclusion- There is a physical reality to the existence of different types of LTM.
