Energy Transfer by Heating

Heat energy is transferred by conduction, convection and radiation. Conduction and convection involve particles but radiation does not. Thermal radiation: the transfer of energy by infra-red waves, that are part of the electromagnetic spectrum. All objects emit (give off) heat radiation. The hotter the object, the more heat radiation it emits. Heat radiation can travel through a vacuum, like space. This is how we get heat from the sun. No particles
