Energy Transfer by Heating
Heat energy is transferred by conduction, convection and radiation. Conduction and convection involve particles but radiation does not. Thermal radiation: the transfer of energy by infra-red waves, that are part of the electromagnetic spectrum. All objects emit (give off) heat radiation.
