Energy

?

Energy transferred - Whenever an object is moved, work has to be done. The force required to move the object needs a source of energy. Work done = energy transferred (to move the object).

To calculate the work done we need to know the force applied to move the object and the distance is has been moved. We can use the equation:

Work done (J) = Force (N) X Distance (m)

For example if we applied a 20N force and moved the object 5m the work done would be 100J. Thust 100J of energy would have been transferred
