Infrared radiation is the transfer of thermal energy using electromagnetic waves (no matter or particles are involved).

All objects emit and absorb infrared radiation

The hotter the object is, the more negy it radiates.

An object will emit/absorb  faster if the temperature difference is greater between an object and its surrounding.
