Elizabeth I dressed in fine clothes to show her wealth and status in paintings. She also used symbols. The rainbow represented peace, the tudor rose represented her right to the throne, the Fleur de Lys was a symbol that Elizabeth thought she had a right to the French throne, the Thornless rose represented The Blessed Virgin
