Element is a substance made up of atoms that have the same number of protrons in their nucleus There are 100 different Elements in the periodic table.

Smallest part of an element that you can have is a single atom of that element. The number of protons in the nucleus decides what type of atom it is. an amtom with one proton in it's nucleus is hydrogen . An atom with two protons is helium. If a substance only contains atoms with same number of protons and different elements have atoms with different numbers of protons.
