Properties and uses of aluminium
Aluminium is a silvery, shiny metal. It is surprisingly light for a metal as it has a relatively low density. It is an excellant conductor of electricty. We can also shape it and draw it into wires very easily.
Aluminium doesnt corrode easily because the aluminium atoms at its surface react with oxygen in the air. They form a layer of protection of aluminium oxide, preventing corrosion
Aluminium isnt a very strong metal but we can use it to form alloys, these alloys are harder, more rigid and stronger than pure aluminium
