ELECTRICTY

Forces

If the charge is travelling horizontally and then enters an electric field then the charge will travel in a parabolic path to the oppositley charged plate.

Conventional current goes from positive to negative charge and flow of electrons got from negative to positive.

In solenoids the fingers are the direction of the current and they curl around the solenoid and the thumb points to the north pole.

When a proton is close to a positive plate its has no kinetic energy and all the energy is in the form of electrostatic potential energy. As the proton moves toward the neagtive plate the potential energy is converted into kinetic energy.

In the Milikan experiment the upward froces are electrical for (Eq) and the downward forces are gravitational/weight (mg). In the drop is stationary the two forces are balanced and net force is 0N. If the electrical force is upwards then the type of charge on the droplet has to be opposite to the charge on the top plate. If the particle isnt in the field then the force is zero.

DC Current

Current in a parralell circuit is split between the branches and the current travels the path of least resistance. In a series circuit current is the same the whole circuit for each component.

Voltage in a parralell circuit is that each branch will get the same voltage. In a series circuit it is divided up between the components. If the resistances are not equall then the higher resistance component will use more voltage.

In power the brightness of the bulb depends on how much watts of power the bulb recieves. The more watts the brighter the bulb.

Electromagnetism

In the right hand slap rule the direction the fingers point is the direction of the magnetic field. The direction of…
