Electricity is a force that runs through certain materials. Without electricity, modern soceity wouldn't be as easy as it is. 

Everything contains electrons; they are tiny, sub-atomic particles that have a negative electric charge. If things lose electrons, they become posotive, and if they gain them, they become negative.
