An electric field is any area of space where a charged particle would feel a force.

Properties: 

Direction: The direction of the force felt by a positively charged particle in the field.
Magnitude: Force per unit charge.

Electric field strength: E = F/Q                                    E = V/d (for uniform fields)

                                                     E = Qq/4πε0r²     (for radial fields)
