  • Electra's relationship with her mother, Clytenmenstra, is full of hatred, though she does try to understand her feelings and acknowledge is going against her own nature in this.
  • She knows her behaviour is wrong, but she stands by her right to criticise her mother and resents clealry the way in which she is treated (You are more of a monster then a mother)
  • Clytenmenstra's nightmares about her actions give Electra hope for victory. She is not afraid to take the moral high ground against her mother and confront her for her actions.
