Edward IV's Foreign Policy:
Intro:
- It was important for ED IV to LEGITIMISE his FOREIGN POLICY because he was an USURPER and both France & Scotland supported the Lancastrians.
- His foreign policy would also PREVENT outsiders from assisting the Lancastrians
WHAT was his FOREIGN POLICY:
- Warwick was allowed to deal with the Lancastrian-backed Scottish Invasions in the North.
- This allowed ED IV to FOCUS on STRENGTHENING the MACHINERY of the GOVT & SECURE his rule in London, despite he did not go North himself.
