THREE TYPES OF CAPITAL
Pierre Bourdieu (1984) - argues both cultural and material factors contribute to educational achievement and are interrelated.
CULTURAL CAPITAL
Bourdieu - cultural capital refers to knowledge, attitudes, tastes and abilities of the middle class. He sees middle class culture as a type of capital as it gives an advantage to those who possess it.
