WHAT CHANGED
- Economy expanded between 1980&1914.
- Production of iron&coal doubled
- Germany produced 2/3 of Europe's steel by 1914
- Germany wa ssuccessful in new industries like chemical manufacturing
- New jobs created (result of industrialisation), and population grew
- Working class expanded & upper classes had less economic power
- The working class played a larger part in German society but working conditions were poor (better sense of identity and wanted better representation)
- Contributed to a rise in socialism
- Led to a support in growth for the Social Democratic Party
SOCIAL PROBLEMS INCREASED
