Causes:

occur at all 3 plate margins

• caused by tension that builds up at plate boundries.
• Destructive: tension builds up when one plate gets stuck moving under the other.
• Constructive: tension builds up as plates move apart
• Conservative: tention builds up when plates get stuck when sliding past each other.
• plates eventually jerk past  each other, sending out shock waves. these are the earthquakes.
