Some beneficial drugs can also be harmful if you have an overdose.

Depressant Alcohol, Temezapan Slows brain and nerve activity

Painkiller Paracetamol Blocks nerve impulses

Hallucinogen Cannabis, LSD Distorts what you hear/see

Performance enhancer  Anabolic steroids Increases muscle development

Addiction - when a person becomes dependant on a drug. Their body may not be able to cope without it

Tolerance - the body learns to tolerate a drug so the addict must taker higher dosages to feel the same effects
