DRINKING WITH HITLER - SHEERS

CONTEXT

HUNZVI feared for militant tactics and charged with 45 million embezzelment from war veterans funds in 1999. In 2000:

- led campaign invilving war veterans in the seizure of white owned land.

- Called himself "the biggest terrorist in Zimbabwe" and identified by numerous victims of torture and beatings.

- Named a torturer by Amnesty International 

STRUCTURE

Quatrains -  allow Sheers to narrate story with GREATER SCOPE than image-driven TRICETS he normally uses.

Introduced into nervous atmosphere - immediately reader wary and uncomfortable

Shift in middle - moves from the VIOLENCE of the 3RD STANZA to see Hunzvi move to next victim (the business woman)

Final Stanza - finalises Hunzvi as distasteful character and leaves this image in reader's mind. Finalises the pain he leaves behind.
