DNA
- a long chain polymer of nucleotide monomers
- this polymer is called a polynucleotide
- DNA is formed by two polynucleotides joining together
- hydrogen bonds between the bases
Hydrogen Bonding And Base Pairing
- the two DNA strands run parallel to each other and the space between them is taken up by the nitrogenous bases projecting inwards
- where a pyramine appears on one side, a purine is on the other
- where the purine is adenine, the pyramine is always thymine
- where the purine is guanine, the pyramine is always cytosine
- as the strands…
