Changes in the law has made Divorce easier and cheeper to get.This gives men and women equal rights. The men and wome don't have to prove that the other is being unfaithful. They can just get a divorce. 

Changes in the position of women - more marriages are stopped by the women not the men. this suggests that the women is more unhappy with marriages then men are. The changes in the position of women has meant that women have more power to stop these things if they want to. 

Rising expectations in marriage - more people are getting a divorce because marriage is not what they expected or the other person is not doing what they want out of the marriage. Women in particular want the best out of their marriage and that links back to them being the ones to file the divorce.
