HideShow resource information

Dilution: when a substance mixes with a solvent that reduces its concentration
Diffusion: The random movement of particles from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration

Diffusion experiment 1:

  • Cotton wool soaked in hydochloric acid (HCl) is placed at one end and cotton wool soaked in Ammonia (NH3) at the other end
  • Where they meet a ring of ammonium chloride appears because they react.
