E.g. Find the gradient of the curve x^2 -3xy +x^2=31 at the point (2,-3)?
Differentiate with respet to x
2x-3x*dy/dx-3y+2y*dy/dx=0
dy/dx (2y-3x) = 3y-2x
dy/dx = (3y-2x)/(2y-3x) = (3*-3)-(3*-2)/ (2*-3)-(3*2) = (-9-4)/(-6-6) = -13/-12 = 13/12
Consider y=a^x (a>0) and take logs to the base e of both sides
lny = ln(a^x…
