Diet an energy balance

A "balanced diet" means eating the right foods, in the right amounts. This will enable you to work and exercise properly. Not eating a good variety of foods means you will get insufficient macronutrients and micronutrients. Insufficent nutrients can cause health issues, such as anaemia, rickets and scurvy.
