DIABETES is a condition in which people are unable to control their blood glucose levels.
What is TYPE 1 Diabetes?
This occurs due to an underproduction of insulin. Therefore, when the person has eaten a meal, their blood glucose level can remain very high for a long time.
--> Symptoms:
- Glucose will be present in the urine of the affected individual;
- Excessive thirst;
- Frequent urination;
- Weight loss, because body cells do not receive enough glucose. To compensate, the body breaks down fats and proteins in body tissues as a means of acquiring energy.
